Hi, my name is Will!

And W2 Recipes is my internet oasis!

I am an online food content creator from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada behind W2 Recipes. Originally born in Macau and raised in Canada. I grew a passion for cooking and lost connection when I left the restaurant industry back in 2019. During the past several years, I felt a lack of fulfillment in life. I had an itch to build something from the ground up and be proud to call it mine. I have picked out different niches along the way and discovered that creation content with a mix of high quality film production and making restaurant quality dishes of all kind around the world is the perfect match.

What started as an idea to create food content online starting on June 2023, I grew at an organic, constant up trending rate. Already partnering with respectable companies in the industry like Le Creuset, All-Clad, STAUB, ZWILING, WÜSTHOF, John Boos, Cuisinart, MEATER, simplehuman, Lee Kum Kee, Safeway and more.

My mission is to help lead the food industry online for people at home by producing restaurant quality recipes, and helping others level up their dishes and knowledge.

My favorite things in life is traveling and eating delicious food around the world, fresh seafood, ramen, rice, filmmaking, and powerlifting.

On this website, I am sharing recipes, techniques, best practices, and knowledge. With my 8 years of culinary, and 10 years of filmmaking experience, I want to showcase restaurant quality recipes you can make at home to impress your guests. Hosting whether at the comfort of your home or an event space, there should always be food people would not only love to eat, but look visually irresistible at the same time. Ingredients, flavor, and presentation matters the most which is why I want to help you become the star of the show.

I love to see how your re-creation turns out and would be more than glad to give tips on improvement if asked, but also share with others your excitement for the dish!

FOOD IS LIFE!

Along with recipes, I also use this website to document and share a glimpse into my life outside the kitchen - from events I’ve been to, my perspective on online content creating, milestones in my life, and reviews on food, shops and restaurants. Admittingly, I do love eating more than I love cooking, but both are high up there.

  • Travel: Born in Macau and immigrated to Canada at a young age up until now… I have been to different parts of the world. My favorite places have been Japan, and Hawaii (Oahu and Maui). Nothing beats the culture, kind people, and delicious, fresh food. Others places I have been to are Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Mexico, and different states in North America.

  • Fatherhood: Starting January 2024, I will be welcoming my baby girl into the world. I have always wanted a kid by the time I reached 30 to be around her life as much as possible. I can’t wait to be her dad and feed her non-stop with food.

  • Filmmaking: I am not new to this, I am true to this. In the past, I have shot weddings, corporate, lifestyle, vlogs, and now food content videos. I am currently shooting with two Sony FX3 Cinema Cameras for all my videos and photos. Creating content has always been a passion of mine and I first started picking up on it in 2008 making my first YouTube video. Its been an on and off relationship, but I’m glad I can now combine the two passions I love and grew up on which is, food and filmmaking. Truthfully, I enjoy sharing both online!

  • Powerlifting: I am a powerlifter (non-completive). Seeing numbers going up in different compound lifts like squat, bench, and deadlift is a sign of strength improvement. Started working out at the gym since early 2015 helped me gain confidence physically and mentally. As of today, my personal record (PR) is 535 LB/243 KG Squat, 300 LB/136 KG Bench, and 615 LB/279 KG Deadlift, 1450 LB/658 KG total. I have only competed once, missed the window of more opportunities because of COVID and no longer am prioritizing it. My main focus maintaining strength while balancing my work, family, and relationship.
